Today was a very very relaxed day.
Spent most of it on the couch being lazy.
I really need downtime like this from time to time.

Later, in the afternoon, I helped reconfigure the church sound system after some equipment was removed.

I had a jam packed day set up today...
Fetch renewed passport in JHB CBD, then a meeting about a possible contract job followed by someone investigating an idea.

I got to the CBD FNB branch and got parking almost immediately (a miracle in itself)... Walked in...and 5 mins later I was back at the car with my shiny new passport... woohoo.

The day didn't QUITE go as planned because as I was leaving the bank I got a call from the first set of people I was meant to meet up with saying that they had to postpone to the next week. This forced me to reschedule my appointment after that.

Good stuff and bad stuff... always a balance I guess...

8 Feb

Today they did the retrieval of the eggs.
They retrieved quite a few (in excess of 10) from Chantal.
Everything went well and there were no funky complications or anything of that sort.

7 Feb

Today we slept over in Pretoria as we have to be at the fertility clinic at 6am tomorrow.
This felt like a MUCH better option than getting up at 3:30am to be ready to leave by like 4am and fight our way through traffic to get to Pretoria on time.

Super blessed that we can afford firstly to do IVF and secondly to be able to take the time off and travel backwards and forwards to do it.

A crazy day... we got halfway to Pretoria only to realise we had the time wrong...
A phone call to the fertility clinic resulted in us heading back home and then head BACK to Pretoria for a 3pm checkup.

I've nicknamed Chantal the easter bunny as she is carrying in excess of 10 eggs. They are growing well and the retrieval date has been set for this Thursday.

A pretty decent day in the end.
Spent the day working on some Android app stuff.
Bit of a setback there because I have to re-redo some stuff.

In the evening we won our second DGL game... So that's good.

We went to visit the fertility clinic today...
Having to go through this is not fun.
BUT
We are very blessed in that we can afford to actually walk this journey where many other people can't.

We also got to visit family today. Many people have broken relationships with their families and that sucks :-(

Another crazy weekend is happening all around me. It's good though.

Today we went and had a braai at family in Alberton. We are super blessed in that we have family close by that we can see pretty often.

It was a good day.

Today was an EPIC day!

I did a little work during the morning and then we were off to a rock concert.
This was Chantal's first ever rock concert.
We saw Lifehouse and Collective Soul.
Another epic part of the whole experience was going with some cool friends.

I really really feel like I need to get involved in the music scene...

Today was a pretty decent day.

We managed to get tickets for the Collective Soul and Lifehouse concert at the last minute. And the whole idea was a last minute thing. It seems as if 2018 is the year of spontaneity.

Someone also asked me if I would like to jam bass for them at an upcoming gig... It's right after we get back from our boat cruise so I'll have to see how that works out... But I reckon it would be a jol... I'm not a bassist, but I'll give it a swing.
